The idea was to generate inner movement in static compositions. Unlike regular dolly shots in which you feel the camera moving, in Dolittle shots it's as if the elements of the composition are moving/changing. Further more, the constant, uniform and extremely slow movement has a cumulative effect on the audience, enabling us to create an existential atmosphere, defined by perpetual awareness to time & space.
